Our Founder - Tammy Hsu
As a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) who also has as a Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC), Tammy brings over a decade of hands-on expertise in sustainable event planning and execution. Her background includes serving on the Global Event Operations team at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where she managed a high-volume portfolio of events across North America—ranging from intimate gatherings of 50 attendees to large-scale conferences of 4,000+ participants. She has successfully delivered hundreds of conferences, corporate meetings, third-party sponsorship activations, virtual/hybrid events, and dynamic networking opportunities for nonprofits, corporations, and higher education institutions.
What truly sets Tammy apart is her deep-rooted passion for community, service, and positive change. A proud first-generation college graduate and an alumna from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, she earned her B.A. in Communications and Psychology, complemented by a Leadership Certificate in Organizational Communication. Her commitment to giving back began early, with over 1,200 hours of service through AmeriCorps from 2009 to 2012, where she supported anti-poverty and hunger initiatives through fundraising campaigns and awareness conferences. This spirit has continued through ongoing volunteer work with organizations like Special Olympics, Jersey Cares, and America Needs You, as well as leadership roles on nonprofit boards—including serving as Events Coordinator, Vice President, and President of the Educational Opportunity Fund State Wide Alumni Association (2015–2018), and as New Jersey Associate Board Chair for America Needs You.
In 2024, Tammy expanded her impact by co-founding Real Life Ready, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering first-generation college graduates with mentorship, resources, and support to thrive in their professional and personal lives. As Co-Founder and President, she channels her own experiences as a first gen alumna into building programs that provide the tools and networks often missing for first-gen grads transitioning into adulthood and careers—further fueling her belief that every individual deserves equitable opportunities to succeed.
At Outpland LLC, Tammy channels this same heart-centered approach into every project. She believes events are more than logistics—they're opportunities to foster connections, inspire action, and create lasting memories while prioritizing sustainability and social good. Clients partner with her because she combines operational excellence, creative vision, and a genuine care for people and the planet.
Outside of event planning, Tammy is an avid traveler, runner, and soccer player. She also co-hosts the YouTube channel and podcast Sips for Change, where she explores topics at the intersection of community impact and meaningful conversations.
